Balheary Park Dublin

Balheary Park is located on the Northern edge of Swords in North County Dublin. At first glance it looks like there is not a lot there except football pitches. However once you enter the park you will find not just one river walk, but two. The Ward River dissects the park in two. There are short walks along both sides of the river. Watch out for finches, wren, mallard, little egrets and grey wagtails. Kingfishers hunt up and down the river.

The Broadmeadows River forms the Northern boundary to the park. This river attracts the same birds as the Ward River. In Spring and summer you can see Chiffchaff and Willow Warblers. Grey Heron and Little Egrets are present all year. Parking can usually be found on the R125 which runs along the south side of the park. The Sat Nav co-ordinates are 53.465010, -6.216129 .
