Birding Gyles Quay
Gyles Quay is located on the Cooley Peninsula, approximitly 17 Kilometres from Dundalk, County Louth. As you walk along the beach, there are spectacular views of the the Cooley mountains. The best times to visit are Spring and late Autumn, as it atracts a lot of caravans and coaches during summer.
The walk along the beach attracts gulls during low tide, as well as divers and waders. There is also a cliff face at the back of the beach, as well as extensive areas of grasslands. These attract warblers, pippits, finches and a good selection of birds.
