Bird Watching Wexford

Cahore Marsh is located on the coast of Wexford about 20 Kilometre south of Gorey. It is a wetland area located just south of Cahore, a small fishing village in Wexford. The marsh runs close to the coastline for 7 or 8 Kilometres. There are substantial sand dunes along the coastline and the marshy area is located behind the dunes. It is an important wetland area in winter that attracts large numbers of wildfowl, gulls and waders. In summer there is less water and it is a haven for stonechats, meadow pipits, skylarks, warblers and many more. Cuckoos are common in late Spring and early summer.

Cahore Marsh is only a 40 minute drive from Wexford Wildfowl Reserve.
